Springmaid Beach Resort Becomes Dog Friendly in October

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Springmaid Beach Resort looks forward to welcoming four-legged visitors beginning October 1, 2011, when it becomes the Grand Strand’s newest dog-friendly resort.

The resort will accommodate dogs less than 35 pounds in a limited number of special dog-friendly rooms on the first floor of the Cyprus building.  Additionally, dogs will have a designated pet-friendly space adjacent to this building.

The decision to welcome dogs to Springmaid Beach comes as trends indicate that travelers are increasingly bringing their pets along on vacation. “We have been welcoming families to Springmaid Beach Resort for generations,” says General Manager Jon Konkel. “We think pets are part of the family and are pleased  to say that we now welcome the whole family to Springmaid Beach.”

Furry friends and their owners must agree to follow Springmaid Beach’s Dog Policies and pay a $25 per day pet fee.  A full list of the dog policies can be found www.SpringmaidBeach.com under the “Resort” tab.

Besides Springmaid’s resort policies, owners must also follow Myrtle Beach’s and Horry County pet policy.  Dogs must be on a hand-held leash not to exceed seven feet in length under the direct control of the person having custody of the animal,  and are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., from May 1 up to and including Labor Day.
