Springmaid Beach Resort Adds Local Talent to Its Staff

Donald Hovis joins the oceanfront Springmaid Beach Resort’s Marketing Department in Myrtle Beach

November, 2011, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Springmaid Beach Resort and Conference Center recently announced the addition of a Myrtle Beach native to its marketing team.  Donald C. Hovis joined Springmaid this fall as a Marketing Manager.

Donald brings a wealth of area knowledge to his new post at Springmaid.  Growing up in Myrtle Beach, his family owned Studebakers Nightclub and now Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar.  His first jobs in hospitality came at area hotels as early as age 16.  Upon earning a degree from Johnson & Wales in Hotel Management, Donald came back to Myrtle Beach, working at Monterey Bay Suites and Oceana Resorts.

Donald’s time in Myrtle Beach hasn’t just been about work.  He is very active in the community, through  service with organizations like Relay for Life, Feed the Hungry, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Helping Hand, Substitutes for Santa, Habitat for Humanity and more.  Donald also serves on the board for the Myrtle Beach Young Professionals Council (GSSCENE) and is a member of the Grand Strand Optimist Club.

“Thus far, my career has taken me all over Myrtle Beach & Grand Strand; and I’m very happy and excited to be on the team here at Springmaid!  Little did I know how much history is here at Springmaid,” comments Donald about his new role at Springmaid Beach Resort.
