The Springmaid Beach Pier

Why have readers of the local Sun News voted the Springmaid Pier “Best of the Beach”  so many times over the years?  And, just announced in 2012, Springmaid Pier made the Top 20 list of MyrtleBeach.com’s  ”101 Don’t Miss Things To Do in Myrtle Beach.  It’s Myrtle Beach’s longest and most accommodating pier, at 1060 feet long, 36 feet wide, with a 110 foot T at the end.  A Myrtle Beach landmark, the Pier is the site of numerous fishing tournaments and offers one of the best views of the entire Grand Strand on the beach!

People are always raving about their Springmaid Pier experience!  According to Dick Martin, for the Newark Advocate, “I love to saltwater fish, and my plan recently was to do as much as possible. My wife loves to shop, and her plan was to do as much as possible. A good combination.  My place to do that fishing was the Springmaid Pier on the south end of the beach, and as soon as we’d unpacked and I’d found the time for high tide (I like to fish two hours on either side) I bought some mullet and fresh shrimp and hotfooted it out to the end.  While I happily fished away, my wife drove the rental car to a huge shopping mall and shopped her brains out before she picked me up well after high tide. A good day and more to come.
